无碱膨体玻璃纤维布是在连续无碱玻璃纤维布的基础上发展起来的一种新型、高效过滤材料，与连续无碱玻璃纤维布不同之处在于其纬纱由无碱玻璃纤维膨体纱组成，由于纱线蓬松，覆盖率高，透气性好，因而可提高过滤效率，降低过滤阻力。因无碱玻璃纤维本身已具备较好的耐碱性能，因此可对烟气中含碱性的粉尘起到高效的捕集效果，此时滤料可有效防止含碱气体腐蚀滤料，从而使设备处于正常运行状态。
